Mike made his name with The Big Town Playboys, recording a string of albums with them including a Gene Vincent tribute CD starring Jeff Beck. After that came many years working with Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings which he combined with his own career as a solo artist and bandleader.
If you’re still in any doubt about how good this man is, then we’ll leave the last words with Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant : ‘He grabbed the genre by the throat and shook new life into it, preaching sweat & grind from his church of the 88 keys.
